| Re: File size issue... plz vote I prefer quality over size. As a downloader, I pick only such movies that I would like to preserve, and when I upload, I usually select films with care. My rule of thumb is around 600 MB per hour of video (1400 MB for a standard 4.3GB DVD). I like to use DivX (6+) and a CBR sound of 48KHz/128 bits. Video bitrate is usually between 960-1200. I agree with Rihaad, Gadiator, Putush, Jammi and others. Downloading poor quality films is painful. Watching them on a big screen TV, you find the picture quality unacceptable. In most cases I also have to enhance sound, filter it, cut out noise etc. I do find that on this site there are few takers for larger sizes. Still the poll shows that one in four peers prefer larger sizes. That's great. It means there will be space for such uploads/downloads as well.:) |
