Its works with any OS but I never tried with regular dvd player or dvr,or so on.

Even though you change the extention from asf to avi, the coding format still remains the same as that in asf. When you paly in computer it works as the encoder is already installed in your computer. It doesn't work at dvd as the true format still remains asf.

Also thanks to bEnGaLi tHuG for the link, I will try that way.
