The River (1951): Jean Renoir This 1951 film of one of the greatest directors of all time, was shot in Bengal and is about a young girl growing up in India/Bangladesh. Some have called it a generous film, others think it is an all-time great film. The story and screenplay is by Rumer Godden. Satyajit Ray worked as an Assistant to Jean Renoir in this film. It was the major inspiration in his early films. Bansi Chandragupta was the art director. I have an excellent copy of this film (700MB/outstanding quality). I can upload it if there is a demand. The film is originally in French, but this copy is dubbed in English Would the moderators advise me if I can release the film in this forum? |
