Now thats a fundamental question!
A seeder is a person who uploads so that others can download. Thats all!
You can upload in two ways:
- You can create a torrent and upload it so that others can download from you; or
- You can share what you have downloaded by continuing to keep the torrent file active in your bittorrent client, even after your download is complete.
