There are many ways to make DVD out of AVI/Divx/xVid files. I personally use and prefer Nero. I have Nero 7 Ultra.

In Nero, I start with a new DVD Video Project, add the avi/divx/xvid/mpeg whatever files until it fills the DVD. Then click next, next and finally burn. It takes quite a long time to convert to DVD abd burn (2 to 4 hourts). It may take longer time if you have slower computer. You can also create DVD Menu and do some other kewl things, but I never tried them with Nero.

By the way, I only make DVD only if I want to make the movie for someone else. I personally have Philips Divx/xVid DVD player. I burn avi.divx/xvid/mpg files to CD/DVD and this player plays them as it is. Take care, bye.
