Bangla movie history goes back as far as back in 1898. First when Hiralal Sen had established the Royal Bioscope Company and organized shows in renowened theatre halls in calcutta.
Later in early 1919's first Bangla Movie was made! The name of the movie was Billwamangal. Not Bilwamangal. No exact was found but that was the first bangla Movie.
In 1931 first Bangla takie movie Jamai Sasthi was produced. Some also claim it to be Dena Paona. But the first recognized feature film in Bangladesh was ‘Mukh O Mukhosh’. It was released in 1956.
I guess mehdianis didn't realize that the question was about Bangla Movie. not Bangladeshi. after all its a Bangla torrent site not Bangladeshi, isn't it?

Infact famous bengali actor Uttamkumar made his debut in bengali movies in 1948 and that of Suchitra Sen was on 1953. Chobi Biswas (another legendary bengali actor) started his work on 1936 and kanadevi made her debut on 1926. I believe that Pahari Sanyal, Pramathesh Barua also started during same time like 1930s'. First movie of Satyajit Ray was on 1955. First movie of Mrinal Sen 1956. First movie by Rithwik Ghatak was on 1953 and that of Tapan Sinha was on 1954.
