When a .torrent file is uploaded to a torrent site, like this one, it gets changed. The torrent server program adds some info to it, or adds some info to its database that a new torrent file is available. It also puts an ID for that torrent file. Now, if you just start seeding from the .torrent file that you created will not match the one that is available for all of us. As the one in torrent site is different than the one in your PC. It might be same but that might not be identified by the torrent site's tracker (torrent server program). Thus .torrent file needs to be downloaded from the web site before we can seed. You do not have to delete the initial .torrent fiel, but there is no use of it. By the way there might be other torrent site where securities are not that strong. They don't care about identifying an uploaded torrent. In such cases one can upload a torrent file for others and still seed from the initial torrent file. But technology is changing everyday. What I said today might be wrong 6 months later. __________________ Hello, R U CDng? |
