Byomkesh Bakshi - Makorshar Ras - 2008 - 1400 MB (Based on the stories by Saradindu Bandyopadhyay)
Arthamanartham (uploaded earlier) Simanta Heera (uploaded earlier) Makorshar Ras
Third of three Episodes. Please see Uploader's Notes below
Synopsis: Ajit meets a childhood friend Mohan, who is a doctor. Mohan has a patient who is addicted to the poison of the Tarantula spider - its very addictive. Try as he might Mohan is not able to trace how the drug reaches his patient. He seeks the help of Byomkesh, who sends Ajit along and from the description that Ajit gives, he discovers the truth through sheer application of logic.
comments: For a change there are some variations from the story though not in essential elements. Mohan comes to meet Ajit instead of a chance meeting by the lake. Since this is a short story that has been expanded into a full length film, there are some scenes which are plausible but was never really an important part of the story - the scenes in the doctors chamber for example. These repeated "filler" scenes makes this episode drag and you repeatedly feel like hitting the fast forward button. In the end the story if faithful to the original.
Once again a cut price Byomkesh. The signs of poor research and cutting corners are everywhere. Byomkesh goes into a inner room through a door and Mohan - an outsider comes in through the same door. There is second door in the room, but the director appears to have forgotten all about it! Such errors are legion in the film.
Acting is mediocre and at times theatrical. Ajit moves about like an expressionless zombie. Mohan is worse. The ending comes as a relief.
