A wonderfully crafted family drama in the same vein of Mikio Naruse and Tran Anh Hung, but also one that is ultimately too single-minded in its efforts at being bleak and unsettling. That said, it is a mighty impressive film, especially considering that it is Ritwik Ghatak’s debut. The attempts at poetry are a bit over the top, but then again, this is 1951. The way in which the more poetic touches blend in with the otherwise very straight-forward / slice of life aesthetic is groundbreaking, if not entirely revolutionary.
Hope you like this release. Please leave your comments or a note of thanks, which would encourage my efforts.

The movie is the best thing I could have uploaded. I can't manage to get screenshots like other releasers have. Also I don't know how to know the codec used here. See if you can download this and manage to help me and others.
Screenshots are used to judge the print quality of the release. I don't think that can be googled. As for other information, it is far better to add that with the release than having everyone going out to google, if not only for efficiencies sake. It is an established norm (rule in many sites) in bit-torrent world for a good reason. Thanks for the release and my suggestion is only intended to improve the quality of releases here at BT without any pretense.
