i understand sharing is important. my problem is that i use utorrent in cyber cafe, where i am not an admin, and i cannot open windows firewall for utorrent. so i cannot seed, only can leech.

I downloaded Bangla Ebooks and had been seeding for couple nights......my upload speed is unlimited and I use 5mbps line .....but when I look at my torrent client nothing been uploaded.....only a few MB data have been uploaded....I usually seed all night long EST time ....and use utorrent.....my ratio is very bad and I really want to make it good by seeding...can some one please advice me something .....thanks in advance ...

Hi there,
Currently i am downloading a file which is 100+ mb and my upload ratio is 0.17 :( (current)...n its already 8o'clock in the morning here n i need some sleep :-s...Therefore, can i continue seeding after few hours?...n will that improve my seeding ratio?

The real issue with seeding is the storage of files. If you look at my upload/download data, you can see that I have downloaded over 50 GB so far but my upload is only 10 GB. Its not like I have an issue with uploading or that am a leecher. It is just that I cannot store so many files in my hard disk long enough to seed for several days. Even then I keep the files for seeding for at least 3/4 days and it seems that in most cases only 50/80 MBs have been uploaded in that time. So it doesnt make much sense to keep the file in my hard drive for so long. So a ban of any sort really wont resolve much of the problem. But I am thinking of alternative suggestions!

Alright, I have an idea, how about the admins list the torrents that have few seeds but a lot of leechers and post the list on the forum along with the torrent files. Those who genuinely wish to increase their ratio (like myself as stated in my previous post) can download those files and seed for as long as possible!

Torrent list already exist since long, at the menu bar(navbar) (top left of the page).
Just in case, here is the link again Torrents List
you can also sort (search)by these options :
Category, Date, Downloaded, Leechers, Name, Peers, Seeders, Size, User

Ratio restrictions are needed definitely but the current sysytem is giving absurd wait times.I do hav a bad ratio but the current wait time shown is 20 YEARS!For this reason most of the threads are having no or very few leechers as nobody can download because of so long wait time.Even if i want to seed the files i hav downloaded there are no leechers so i can't increase my ratio! This is total fix.Admins please look into this.

Looks like that in order to solve the Seeding Problem we are creating a bigger problem. We will lose members who have certainly wanted to d/load and up/load Bengali content. I have nothing against Seeding the content that I am downloading but at times if the leechers are not there for a specific content I cannot increase my ratio. I have a ridiculously high wait time of over 20 years before I can download. Now I am most certainly not going to revisit Banglatorrents.com after 20 years to download a JEET or MITHUN movie. Most of the people are frustrated because of this and I can predict with certain amount of certainity that Banglatorrents is going to lose active members. The ADMINS may feel that they have X amount of members and hence they care less if someone is leaving or not. But they need to rethink about the active members first. Please re-think this decision and maybe you will find more members willing to SEED and participate.

It is true that some genuine problems have risen due to the ban. I am not sure if many alternatives exist unfortunately.

Ami nizey ekta problem face kortesi and I hope the admins will listen to my plead. As I am sincere about increasing my ratio, I have been seeding 9 files since the last two weeks. But the problem is, my upload speed is genuinely slow and my previous difference in UL and DL is too high. Thus shomaney seed korar poreo I am not being able to bridge the gap by much. My ratio was 0.16 and I have been able to increase it to 0.20 in two weeks. To reach a ratio of 1.0 its gonna take a hell lot of time for me no doubt. So I am requesting the admins to decrease the difference between my UL and DL if it is possible in any way. That way I can seed every new file that I download to the ratio of 1.0 and not have to seed 100 files for 1 year to reach that level.
