One year with BT! Some memories!!

BT grew to be one year old today and tunred out to be a big community from nothing with 8 000+ members, nearly 3 452 threads, 32 893 posts and many more.

BT started its nicest journey on 11th July 2005 and I joined on 15th, only 4 days later. Since then it has become so important for me that I cant stay a single day without vising her.

Me and my family members, all together, used to watch mainly Hindi movies or other Holywood movies aired on our local channels in Sweden. We had no other choices, no other entertainments, nothing else during our spare times and holidays. All Bangla dramas and serials available here, brought by other Bangladeshis or myself were only stuffs that we were proud of and used to enjoy. Those became old and watched one by one. We were on the way to forget what we had to be proud of; Humayun Ahmed, Anisul Haq, Mamunur Rashid, Imdadul Haq Milon and other playwrights. We almost forgot that Bangladesh is one of the countries in the world where most popular dramas are being produced.

Then came some sites with a few Bangla stuffs but with very low quality videos that we need to watch either online or download. Something was better than nothing in a foreign country. Then came DC+ and other file sharing applications. But no Bangla stuffs. After some time I noticed that some people shared quite a small numbers of Bangla dramas. I downloaded those and swallowed like a ever hungry person.

A site started sharing some Bangla stuffs with bounty of other local stuffs. I started vising the page. And suddenly we got a post by Anonno informing the greatest news ever that one torrent site is ongoing only for Bangla stuffs. I ran like a horse and joined it. It was BT!

Now BanglaTorrents is a big community and we get everything whatever we have to be proud of. We got chance to watch the great serials by great writers like Eishob Din Ratri, Bohubrihi, Aoyomoy, Kothao keo nei, 51borti, 69, Ditiyo Jobon, Kachher manush, Ronger Manush and many more. Hundreds of single dramas, famous and old movies, musics, dance, other celebrations and other valuable stuffs like BanglaPedia, Ranidra Rachanaboli. All these open our heart to love our beloved country even more. All these remined us the past that we left behind us. Our ever green land, sweet childhood, famlies and friends all came back to our memory as fresh, as it happened just yesterday. We can now roam through the sweet memory that we had once. We all Bengali people scattered all over the world got a common platform to be together, to excange our views and ideas and foremost to be befreinded with each other.

Thanks to BT! Thanks to its admins, mods and all members for creating scuh a wonderful world for us! Long live BT and long live Bangla culture! Jogoter shokol prani shukhi houk, OM shanti, Amin!

I can't believe its been 1 year already and I am so proud to have a torrent community dedicated to our culture!

lemme dig up my memmories too in this wonderful occation.guys,this post is just my perosonal memory how i connected with BT and may not be something attractive to u so pls dont blame me later for faltoo pechal.read it at your own risk ;)

i was a member@D_T with the same nick and used to download hindi movies,mp3 etc.was never really interested in bangla stuffs (not even today.why?slow pace,same set,poor acting and above all bogus script).tho used to visit the bangla section sometimes to check if any exclusive item.

it was 14th july,2005 and was passing time in internet.suddenly found a thread by mimxt that a new bangla torrent site had been started. (this guy deserves few words to be said about him.thrs an optional block to write the referral's name in BT registration form which most of the ppl ignore.i guess a good number of the first 500 ppl got to know about BT's existance from mimxt.a big :claps: for him)

dont know why the patriotism (some curicity too) in my mind woke up :D and registered here.posted some hi/hello/thanks type message in some introductory threads.

on 21st july i got a pm from BanglaGuru.without prior permission,posting the pm here :D sorry BG.

i was not a known face@D_T like TeolABM bhai nor personally known person like baker bhai nor a gr8 releaser like redneck or gladiator bhai.i guess some random lottery or something :D

anyway,i replied affirmative and hooked up with BT.unfortunately this "Hi Performence Development Team" project dint see the light.this is not actually modering team.at that time,i had access to an extra subforum but not to modcp [those who dont know about "extra subforum" and modcp,pls check the next post]

probably in the beginning of sep,mod power was given to me,baker bhai and crackboss.crackboss was never active due to some personal problems,baker bhai was neither.admins were basically busy in backend work.

the first thing i tried is to make a very friendly atmosphere in BT,never wanted to act like policeman so members can always feel BT as their own site.u guys will justify the success.

later other mods joined the admin team and took BT to height which other similar bangla sites can only look up to.

enough of pechal.before leaving,i would like to thank all the members -> releasers,seeders,leechers,even spammers to make BT a great success.u guys rock.also apologizing to some members who i might misbehaved with in different occation.nothing personal dudes,i just had to abide by BT rules.

just kidding taposhbhai. in bt i have lot of fun with u.

bt is my first torrent site. so it mean lot too me. the download i have here, i didn't see most of them. but i like to download and seed for them. one of my pc is always for bt. some time it runs more than a month. i put a 100 gb hard drive and dvd writer so if it get full i just burn it. dont get enough time to see this. wish to say with this site for long time.

thanks taposhbhai for sharing your BT memories with us on BT"s birthday. you are really a friendly and very juvenile mod. don't know why you are not active now days but so far i guess lots of members like me miss you very much.
if anyone think....u acted like policeman that is their own problem and leave it on them. for ur active interaction BT has a very nice forum.

Teol Bhai's experience resonates how most of us felt when we found ourselves deprived of all great things we took for granted while growing up in BD (shosta food, TV shows, Adda, Weddings, politics, Tunky(!!!), etc., etc.). I remember during college days in US, we would wait like starving crows if someone was to come back from BD after a short visit. We were very anemic due to lack of our soul-food and western medias' ethnocentric obsession with their own mundane non-issues. Our only connection to BD was those six minute phone-calls costing $3.xx/minute, enough to convey to our families that we were OK.

Times are now different, with the advent of internet and emerging technologies, we are much closer to where our hearts are. We have easy access to newspapers, music, TV channels, and a growing community of our own. BanglaTorrent has a very special place since it offers a unique opportunity to create a treasure trove for everything we love and like to share. It is time to appreciate the hard work and efforts that went behind this wonderful endeavor.
