I saw the movie. Not as bad as mentioned by Haga_Mia. But also not a master piece. I was a fan of Humayun Ahmed once. Stories like Shurjer din, Tomader jonno bhalobasha, Shobai geche bone, Irina etc were awsome. Movies like Aguner poroshmoni was also a good one.

I think Shyamol Chaya has a beautiful story and message; everyone in Bangladesh, regardless of religion, were independtly seeking freedom from the Pakistan military. I especially like the character played by Riaj; if everyone in the world was like him, the world would be a better place. I particularly mourned the sight of all those who died just so that we can speak Bangla in the way we do today, and yet we are being sucked into Western Culture.

Qumrul Hasan Bhuyan, my apon khalu, is a major contributor to this natok and aided Humayun Ahmed in providing certain details about the war. He fought with the 1971 Mukti Bahini. His name appears in the introduction credits.
