Plot Outline:
Everybody knows about Rabindranath Tagore the poet. Some know him as a humanist, a novelist, a playwright or even a philosopher. Yet there was Another side of Tagore that is relatively less known. He was one of the greatest of India's modern painters. He took up painting in the last decade of his life and despite the presence of great painters like Nandalal Bose and Abanindranath around him, developed a style that is uniquely his own.

Sukanta Roy takes us on a journey to find the roots of Rabindranath's inspiration. To the background of a supremely gifted and creative family and the quiet but arresting beauty of Shantiniketan. Interspersed by Tagore's own songs and music, this docu-feature gives a new insight into the greatest of poets' mind.

"...I need not formulate any doctrine of art but be contented by simply saying that in my case my pictures did not have their origin in trained discipline, in tradition and deliberate attempt at illustration, but in my instinct for rythm, my pleasure in harmonious combination of lines and colours"
