Just got the news that Ustad Ali Akbar Khan sahab is no more. I cannot think anything right now... I have no word to express my grief... May his soul rest in peace..
Sharing the same experience with you iwonderwhy…His profound strokes touched the innermost chords of our hearts. Personally speaking, very few musicians could resonate with my innermost pathos and feelings with such delicacy like Him. Who could forget those delectable moments gifted by his immortal Music!
If there was one sarod player who could touch your heart with even his first stroke, it was Ali Akbar Khan Saheb. I have no words to explain the feeling of loss I have, when I think I will never be able to go to a concert to hear him play again.
Rest in Peace Khan Saheb.

It is told that that only the Kings and the Fakirs can become true musicians. A fakir is blessed with the kingdom of wisdom and love through his love for god. And a true musician, the king of all musicians, becomes the Fakir with the blessing of simplicity of his art. The two horizons met in Ustad Ali Akbar Khan Sahib. The world may have to wait a thousand years for another instrumentalist of his capability. May his soul rest in peace.
