I am not sure what reason exists behind your problem. But you can try log out from BT, delete all cookies and restart your PC. Login again and try to download files.

Install all the latest Patches/updates from MS. Ask your ISP if they have any alternative proxy add, if you have a static IP then tell them to change the one you are using now. this is what i did when i had the same problem. thanks to my ISP's support executives.
