I also use a desktop dedicated for the download and upload only. I don’t share the line with anyone and I don’t use the line for browsing as well. But I am getting maximum 20 kbps upload speed(though i set it to infinity). How can I increase that? I am now seeding almost 24 hours a day. But because of the speed it is very difficult to upload more. Please help me to solve this problem. __________________ Hridoye Bangladesh | 05-23-2006, 01:13 PM | | Super Moderator | | Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Malmö, Sweden. Bye.. | i have no idea what can be the reason for your slow speed. but i may suggest you to change your client to BitComet as it is the best ever with very low CPU usage. it is based on C++. Download BitComet version 0.64 it is the best. newer versions have some bugs. does your cable modem have any built-in firewall? if yes, then you have to forward some ports. use port number between 49152 and 65534 in your BitComet Preferences. Try it and see if the problem is solved. | 05-23-2006, 06:54 PM | | Erudite | | Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Middlesbrough, U.K Posts: 232 Thanks: 470 Thanked 41 Times in 5 Posts Rep Power: 21 UL: 327.50 gb DL: 256.63 gb Ratio: 1.28 | | Quote: | Originally Posted by TeolABM i have no idea what can be the reason for your slow speed. but i may suggest you to change your client to BitComet as it is the best ever with very low CPU usage. it is based on C++. I checked the link you told me and did everything mentioned there. My port is alright and speed test shows my upload speed is 750 Kbps and download is 85 Kbps. So I set the download speed 50 Kbps. What else can I do? Is there any relation between the upload speed and number of files in open in the client? __________________ Hridoye Bangladesh | 05-24-2006, 05:57 AM | | Moderator | | Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: London Posts: 1,775 Thanks: 2,539 Thanked 230 Times in 22 Posts Rep Power: 58 UL: 613.62 gb DL: 131.95 gb Ratio: 4.65 | | Quote: | Originally Posted by tarunno I am using a 1MB NTL connection for my torrents. Please help me to solve this problem. | Hi Tarunno, I don't think you will be getting more than 20 KBps upload as you are using only 1 MB NTL connection. The only way you can increase uploading speed is by calling your service provider and asking them to upgrade your internet speed. Unfortunately, they will be charging you more than you are paying now. You can be a great seeder by upgrading your internet speed. One of the example is sunny0183, who is using NTL too and one of our top seeder. Let me give you an example. My internet speed is 8MB. That does not mean that I'll be getting 8MB download speed. Remember that kbps and KBps is not same. Please check your internet speed from the following link. http://www.abeltronica.com/PagRec/uk/01/ I checked my speed and the result I got is the following one Now, take a look at the red round box. That is my original upload speed (59.81 KBps). Please check your internet speed now and I dont think it is more than 20 KBps. Good luck to you. __________________ BANGLATORRENTS EXPANSIVE NOT EXPENSIVE | 05-25-2006, 06:37 AM | | Hridoye Bangladesh | | Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: very close to you all Posts: 444 Thanks: 707 Thanked 1,280 Times in 88 Posts Rep Power: 36 UL: 250.80 gb DL: 159.62 gb Ratio: 1.57 | | | Thanks for the detail description of the problem. I have checked the speed and it is really below 20 KBps. I have realised the problem now. I am seeding my best to make my ratio high. By the way, can anyone please tell me what is Re Power attach with me? I have 2 now. When I started I had 0. I also have the title Desh PremiK now. I started with Nobin. I really like to know their significance. But still thanks to them as they have set relatively lower price for usage of that service comparing to some other neighboring countries. the Max bandwidth will be 10 GB. currently the whole country is using like 150 MB/s. I am absolutely surprised kinda speed you guys have in your sides. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT +6.
