why is BT so slow?

Good question. I can think of three reasons:

1. Many of the Members are from areas where large internet bandwidth is not available (e.g. Bangladesh). Thus their upload and download speeds are both low.
2. The number of simultaneous users is also low. Thus the number of peers for any torrent is low and the combined swarm speed is not high.
3. You have tried to download a torrent which does not have too many seeders.

The website itself is pretty fast. It comes on in a flash and surfing within the website is also quite fast. Its certainly faster than most comparators in this respect. Uploading to and downloading from the site is also quite fast.

I've recently installed BitComet 0.93 in my computer. I never had any problem downloading any clip from BT with the previous version of BitComet. But now I cant download any stuff from BT. It says the following when I click on any torrent file:

Unable to read torrent file ! Please try re-downloading the torrent !

Any Tips to solve this problem ?!

I am not familiar with bitcommet. But still you can try a common solution for this problem stated many times here. Logout from Banglatorrents.com, Clear your Internet explorer cookies completely, re-login to BT and finally try again to download the torrent file. It sholud solve the problem.

what is a seeder
plese explain the terms in a torrent

Now thats a fundamental question!

A seeder is a person who uploads so that others can download. Thats all!
You can upload in two ways:

1. You can create a torrent and upload it so that others can download from you; or
2. You can share what you have downloaded by continuing to keep the torrent file active in your bittorrent client, even after your download is complete.

When i start to download it says your share is not good
and the file download not start .
Pl. help how to increase my share ratio &
how cn i start downloading my

Hello There


i am a new user and want to upload some file to BT.I just gone through with the help .. m using Azureus on Windows XP along with 256 sheared net speed. I made a torrent file named “Pandit Ajay Chakrabarty” (63 mp3 files of Ajay Chakrabarty). On to the Azureus it’s showing me that seeding...on to the general section under info tab Tracker Status showing me an error like Error (unregistered torrent pass).


Is there anything wrong with that procedure? Please let me know how to proceed further!

Very simple mathematics, any number divided by zero = infinite. You have uploaded 2.02gb but have not downloaded a single kb. As soon as you download something from this website you will get a ratio.

I have seen that if you don't have your ratio above 1.0 you will be banned to login to your account. That is why i uploaded some programs that are 400 and 300 mb. But after uploading them yesterday, today i see that my UL is still the same and my ratio is still the same. What is wrong?
I want to download something, please help here....

Your ratio should be >1.0 as minimum. It does not mean that you have to upload something straightaway as you join the website members. What is important is you seed until ratio>1.0 or as much as possible after you finish download something. And you told you uploaded something about 300mb/400mb but you did not seed them, did you? So your upload/download stat will remain as it is. So download, seed and enjoy

Hi all,

My ratio is well above 1, but when i try to download tracker reports "Failure: access denied, wait time in effect". I use uTorrent.

What am i doing wrong ?

Keep you torrent client running after you’ve finished downloading. Thus, other users will be able to download from you. Let’s say if you have downloaded 2gb and has uploaded 4gb, it will give you 2.00 ratio as you have uploaded double of your downloads. Therefore, the following you should do.

1. Keep your torrent client running for others to download from you.
2. Do not move the original file (otherwise, you are in risk of downloading same file twice which will reduce your ratio).
3. Seed the old files you have downloaded already. You can also find the files in need of seeding by Clicking Here.
4. Use fast internet connection.
5. Seed as much as you can.

i hav uploaded more than 600 mb but in my profile it is shown as 260 mb.In fact,if the individual uploads per torrent is added it is still coming as >600mb.why this bug?
