DVD Writing Software

Ok what do you guys use make DVD's .. I'm currently using "power producer 2" but not quite happy with that ... it takes ages to convert from DivX/XviD to VOB and it also lacks in features when it comes to menu editing.

I want something that

1. reasonably fast (encoding/decoding)
2. more and more features while customizing the menu options
3. Allow select the Audio format while producing DVD movies ...

I am not familiar with Power Producer, but I know any kind of video editing/converting is time consuming. Most fast Mpeg4 devices would be a hardware encoder/decoder device. Very fast, real time conversion and produce excellent quality. Price is 20,000+U$$. You don't want that, do you?

Next option would be to use a very fast computer with huge RAM. Like P4 3.xGHz w/Hyperthreading, if possible Dual processor system.

Unless you update your hardware (spend $$$) you can't get is faster. Software has nothing to do with faster speed, atleast not that much.

You can try ULead DVDmaker software, Adobe's dvd solution, Pinnacle Studio etc. Each software has some good features, some drawbacks. There is no single answer to your question about having more features in one software. You just have to try different software.

thanks mehdianis .. ... obviously I can't afford the hardware solution ... however form software to software the encoding speed does varies .. for example to encode to DVD format Nero takes about 3-4 hour in my current 2.4 Ghz machine but the features are amazing like I can encode in 5.1 channel Dolby Digital format ... but power producer can encode it in only 1 and 1/2 to 2 hour time .... but it doen't have that much of features ...

I'll try these pretty soon ... ULead DVDmaker software, Adobe's dvd solution, Pinnacle Studio etc and let youguys know ...
