How to increase upload speed?

I am using utorrent. my connection speed is 256kb/s. Using ADSL (Smartax MT882) and configured it as a router. My upload speed never exceeds 30kb/s. Do'nt care about download.

Please help.

256 kbps is actually your upload speed, i.e. 256/8=32 kB/s is your max. upload speed. You are getting 30 kB/s=240 kbps. I think you are getting normal.

Is there anyway *-:) to increase my upload speed without changing my connection type? :-?

Sorry I was wrong, I guess you are using bsnl with 2 mbps connection. So your upload speed should be 512 kbps i.e. 64 kB/s, you are getting just half of that. Have you ports forwarded correctly?
I am also using the same ISP but having a speed of 256 kbps since I am on unlimited connection. Since this connection is adsl, we have just 1/4 upload speed of the download speed. I am perfectly getting over 64 kbps (8 kB/s) upload speed. But I am using my router as a modem & dialing from PC, so no port forwarding issue comming to me as in my case, the router is a dumb modem & every port is wide open.
