Teol bhai,as far i know,Alamgir is actually Bengali.he just lives in Pakistan,left BD after his intermediate (HSC).

he was even the vocalist of first ever bangladeshi band (in 60s,long before azam khan-ferdous wahid etc) in his teen age.

i read these some 10 yrs ago.now as u said hes non-bengali,i am being confused tho :(

Just to let you know guys, Alamgir is a Bangladeshi.
His parents are from Barisal, and they moved to Pakistan in early seventies.
Alamgir is now living In USA. He is often invited to Bagladeshi occasion in states.

One of very few but Most popular single programs of BTV in late 80's
He was born in Bangladesh but raised in Pakistan. He came to visit Bangladesh in 1989/90 and performed on BTV with some brilliant songs. He is such a brilliant singer of all sotrs of songs.

He lives in Atlanta, GA. You can find some of his stage appearances on youtube.com but now that he is old, can't sing that well. By the way, I have been looking for this BTV special which I saw a long time ago in Dhaka. Can anyone seed this? This download isn't working. I really like his song "Keh de na".
