Plot Outline:
This is a film about a group of residents in a block of flats called Ballygunge Court. They are gentle folk, all very successful and all in their sunset years. Their children have left home to search for their own Holy Grails, leaving the parents to make the best of the years left to them. The film weaves a tale of their lives, their loneliness and their stubborn pride. It also tells of their insecurities and their desperate attempts to get on with life.


Comments:
This is perhaps one of the better films I have seen in months. The story by Bani Basu is compelling and is augmented by some tight screenplay. The background score by Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty as well as music composition by Chandan Roychaudhuri is often hauntingly beautiful. The lead actors particularly Soumitra Chattopadhyay, Mamata Shankar and Sabyasachi Chakraborty do a brilliant job. My only grouse is that the film is a bit too weepy. Old people have a resilience that seemed a bit underplayed. Sadly the film did not do well at the Box office.

It will not play in Windows media Player.
To play this film download VLC Player (from VideoLAN - Free Software and Open Source video streaming solution for every OS! or just google for it)
VLC Player is free and is infinitely superion to Windows Media Player.

Already have your 1400mb xvid version, it is still good to see this movie released here as well. To me it just seemed too emotional in its narrative and lacked objective storytelling. The role of the daughter-in-law was delusive, her playing a typical 'good' 'bou-ma' with her in-laws and a seductress at night with her husband just didn't feel real, almost felt like a character out of sixties. Screen play and characterization were poor, characters seemed fake, overdone. The music seemed too overpowering. Only redeeming value I found in the movie was Shoumitra's character, he did a commendable job there. Just my take on it.

Thanks man, your effort is appreciated. My problem is different as I can't seed in the night as my wife forces me to shut down my PC as she can't stand the noise of the cooling fans :not listening:
